Hurricane Michael Causes Court Closures and Report Delays!
Hurricane Michael made landfall in the Florida Panhandle on October 10, 2018. It was the strongest hurricane to hit the panhandle in history, hitting as a very strong Category 4. Hurricane Michael left widespread devastation in its wake, taking out entire communities, and has been attributed to multiple deaths across several states. More than a million people are out of power.
The Florida Supreme Court and several county courthouses closed in preparation, prior to the storm making landfall, and many are expected to remain closed for days, according to a special information page on the Florida Supreme Court’s website. The site will be updated as more information becomes available or the emergency hotline at (850) 921-8552 is another helpful resource.
The court closures will likely cause information delays, and as such report completion may also be delayed.
